A Brief Course Tour

The Manitoba Lotteries Full Marathon starts at 7:00 a.m. and the course officially closes at a pace of 14 minutes per mile by a well-marked Course Closing Vehicle.

From the Start Line on the University of Manitoba campus, the marathon course runs a clockwise loop, sharing the first and last mile of the course. It starts on University Crescent, continues on to Pembina Highway, Crescent Drive Park, then onto South Drive and Wildwood Park before heading around the Jubilee Overpass into Crescentwood via Harrow, to Winnipeg's favourite running route on Wellington Crescent and into Assiniboine Park. The Footbridge over the Assiniboine River at Mile 12 brings runners onto Portage Avenue, then onto Wolseley Avenue and to Broadway where runners pass the Manitoba Legislature at Mile 16. Then it's on to the river roads - Assiniboine Avenue, Main St. at the Forks, Lyndale Drive, and on to Kingston Row, then St. Vital Road and River Road. The "big hill" on the Manitoba Marathon course is at Mile 24 - the Bishop Grandin Bridge - then the short incline back onto Pembina Highway, as the course returns to University Crescent and the Finish Line at University Stadium.

Important Registration Dates for 2012

April 29 - Early Bird fees end.
May 29 - Champions in Training Countdown 26 Registration Closes
May 30 - Mail deadline
June 1 - Last day to drop-off at Stride Ahead Sports.
June 9 - Office hours: 11am - 1pm.
June 11 - Registration for the Manitoba Hydro Power Smart Relay Closes.
June 13 - Online Registration for Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and Super Run closes at 11:59:59pm.
June 15-16 - Manitoba Marathon 2 day Expo/Runner Pickup - Late registration and Event Changes Available (applicable fees in effect). Relay registration not available.

June 17 - Race Day - Mini-Mite registration ($2) at Manitoba Marathon Start Line, 5:45 - 6:30 a.m.
