All dogs and wheeled carriages other than wheelchairs are banned from the race. Athletes must not be accompanied or followed by others on cycles. Teams and Team Runners All club runners that state their club name when they register will automatically be entered in their club team. If you are not part of an official running club but would like to enter as a team please state this on your entry form ensuring all team members use exactly the same name. All runners must wear their club vests. The first 3 male or female runners home for the team will count towards the cumulative competition score. A minimum of 3 people are required per team; they need to be all male or all female. Memento for all finishers. Please note, race numbers must be worn as issued and numbers must not be given to another person. The wearing of headphones may cause you not to hear oncoming traffic, please do not wear them during the race.The Gun Time is the official time.
All awards are based on GUN TIME - the time from the start of the race (gun) to when you cross the finish line as per IAAF, Athletics Canada, BC Athletics, USATF, AIMS and International Awards standards.
Excerpt from the IAAF Road Race Handbook — Pg 196 RULE 240
Note: For road races and road walking events, the official time will be the time elapsed between the start gun and the athlete reaching the finish line. However, if an athlete crosses the start line after the start gun, his time elapsed between the start and finish line can be made known to the athlete but will not be considered as official time. The order in which athletes reach the finish line will be considered as the official finish position.
