Ironman 70.3 Muncie 2012

The course
The single-looped 1.2-mile swim takes place in Prairie Creek Reservoir where the water temperature are expected to be in the neighbourhood of 78 degrees Fahrenheit, which will likely result in a non-wetsuit race.The flat and fast, out-and-back, bike course through the Indiana farmland follows 56 miles of closed state highways and roads that wind through rural Delaware and Henry Counties. Finally athletes are treated to an out-and-back, rolling-terrain-run that challenges the competitors before they finish back at Prairie Creek Reservoir.
What are they chasing
The professional men and women’s fields assembled in Muncie will be competing for $50,000 and 750 Pro Ranking points to go towards qualifying for IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 world championship. For our age group athletes there will be 30 spots awarded for the IRONMAN World Championship 70.3 held in Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nevada, on September 9, 2012.
